What We Move to Azure
Azure is the Microsoft cloud. Your servers run there instead of in your office. Most moves involve a mix of these and we confirm what you have before we plan anything.

How Long an Azure Migration Takes
Some moves take about two weeks from the first meeting to finished. Larger or more complicated ones take longer and are done in phases, a few systems at a time. Every move ends with the switch-over, the day your staff start using Azure.
What decides it is how many systems you have, how connected they are, how old the software is and how much data has to move. The free assessment gives you a realistic time for your business.

How a Move Works Step by Step
We start with a free assessment
We look at what you run and tell you whether Azure is the right place for it. You get a written outcome. It is the free assessment our Azure page describes.
We list everything
Every server, database, shared folder and piece of software, what depends on what, how much data there is, what your software licences allow and how fast and steady your internet is.
We write the plan
The Azure setup, the cost, the order things move in and the date for the switch-over, all in writing before work starts.
We build Azure first
Security and backups are in place before any of your data arrives.
We copy and test
Your data is copied across while your office keeps working. We move one low-risk system first so you can check it works before the rest follow.
We switch over
After a final copy your staff start using Azure. Your old setup stays untouched.
What We Check Before Anything Moves
Every business has a few things that need care. We look for them in the list so none of them turns up on switch-over day. Anything we find goes into the written plan with its cost before work starts.

Switch-Over Day and the Way Back
The switch-over normally happens after hours so your working day is not interrupted. If something rules that out, we agree another time with you.
We tell you who will notice what before the switch-over, so nobody is surprised. Some staff sign in a different way to reach some of their work and others see no change.
Before we switch there is a final check. A system that has not passed its test does not move that night. Your old setup stays untouched afterwards, normally for about two weeks and longer when your business needs it, so there is always something to fall back on while you settle in.

What Happens After the Move
A move can finish as a project. Nothing ongoing is required.

Servers in Azure are looked after under our Platinum plan, the one that covers servers. We manage them alongside everything else we look after for you.
Azure brings a lot more complexity than most business systems.

Azure is not always the answer. When the assessment points somewhere else, we plan and carry out that move the same way.

After-hours work costs extra
Switch-overs normally happen after hours and that time is charged additionally. It is in the written plan.
